Immersive Introduction to Organic Chemistry
This is a live Introduction to Organic Chemistry course. It follows from concepts in First Semester Chemistry, and it makes a lot of sense to take this course before Second Semester Chemistry. It’s going to be a fun, easy introduction to the fascinating science of what’s inside food, living things, and lots of chemical products out there. It’s a unique, approachable online organic chemistry class for high school aged and younger to learn organic chemistry.
Dates and Times for Live Classes:
Fall 2020: Oct 13 – Dec 17, 2020
Tuesday-Thursday 11AM PST / 2 PM EST schedule
(one lesson/two classes per week)
Fall 2020 Introduction to Organic Chemistry will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 13 to December 17, 2020 from 11-11:50 AM PST (Pacific time) or 2-2:50 PM EST. There is a break for Thanksgiving week (USA holiday).
- Take this course in Fall 2020, after completing First Semester Chemistry, and continue to Second Semester Chemistry in January 2021. Learn more about the course sequence here.
- If you are currently taking First Semester Chem during Summer 2020, this course continues AT THE SAME TIME after a one week break. Stay on track and keep the same schedule.
- Intro to O-Chem has 9 cohesive lessons that build from topics in First Semester Chemistry about how larger, real world molecules work and behave. We’ll understand all those chemicals found on a food label.
- After this course ends, Immersive Chemistry Second Semester will be offered AT THE SAME TIME running January-May, 2021. Keep the same schedule for the entire 2020-2021 “school year.”
