What Is Modern Chemistry Textbook?
Meet the Most Modern Chemistry Course on the Internet
Let’s start with a well know fact for those already in the know about chemistry. Most of the textbooks out there essentially haven’t changed since about 1940. Sure they keep reorganizing the thing (and increasing the price) with each new edition, but most chemistry textbooks have been fundamentally unchanged since your grandparents may have used them. You might sense this doesn’t connect well with how people learn these days.
Our series of video-based chemistry courses specifically overcome the many problems with the other, traditional textbooks out there. We have a fun approach with art to demonstrate the concepts. And we always use Plain English, never jargon. Also, we never use annoying math to teach chemistry. Finally, we have complete solutions for all the problems with all the details so you’re never left wondering why the teacher just didn’t tell you that important fact… You won’t find these features elsewhere, because nobody else has taken the time to put the science of chemistry into a modern context.
As far as modern features go, you might say that we use a S.T.E.A.M. approach for learning. That’s science, technology, engineering, ART, and math. What is art doing in this mix? Well, it’s our belief that students learn more when they actually like what they are looking at. A picture is worth a thousand words, but only if we can appreciate it first.
Another modern touch is that the experiments in the chemistry textbook are actually relevant to the lessons. You might think this is obvious. You’ll note, however, that most textbooks won’t even discuss experiments, let alone align them with the lessons being taught.
What’s decidedly old school about our approach, though, is learner-teacher interaction. You’ll have direct support to the course instructor for evaluating assignments and asking questions. While most online educational products out there are highly robotic in nature, we do the opposite. The goal is to provide you with as much personal support on your chemistry journey as you would like. You won’t find that with the old school textbook publishers or the other chemistry education web sites out there these days.
